Photographer’s Note

Dans un petit village Glinskoe sur le lac artificiel Rybinskoye, dans un magasin, en attente de pain.

In a small village Glinskoe on the artificial lake Rybinskoe (Rybinsk Reservoir), the people is waiting for the bread in a shop (not a backer's shop, there is any in the village).

Note : Rybinsk Reservoir was created in the 1930s by damming the Volga and Sheksna rivers and filled up during the war. About 600 villages were flooded.

The woman in the right has such interesting features. I spend a half an hour or so trying to see if I could come up with a crop that made her the feature, but there just wasn't enough to go with.

I find the woman on the left a huge distraction, especially with the huge gray apron, which adds nothing to the picture.

Additionally, I find the lighting very harsh, with the shadows on the panneling behind very distracting.

Good effort though. Do you have other photgraphs of the lady with the great apron?

I would like to compensate the critic of justrob (very instructing by the way). This is an interesting daily life subject, probably taken with simplicity (as such seems to be their life).
