Photographer’s Note
I'm sure you'll want to become nomadic people like my Kirgiz friends here when you see this photo!
Beside the joke, this is a typical nomadic kyrgyz family I met while treking near Altyn Arashan (south of Karakol). They offered my some nice qumis (fermented, 2° alcoholised horse milk, well special taste indeed but you end out getting used... ;) ) so that in return I gave the cute mummy the golden Eiffel tower she proudly wears!
Up for a qumis?

Are you tall? That was the question I asked myself why I opened the thumbnail. First impression was that you took the pic from a higher position looking down at these people.
Second impression: this is really an authentic nomadic camp and I would have loved to be there, except for the qumis.
I presume that this is a scanned picture which loss some sharpness on the process.
In any case, it's an interesting photo a place in the world that we don't see often on TE. Thanks for posting it and sharing.

Beautiful grounds to be a nomad!
I would have preferred seeing more of the children, but at least we see all their bemused faces. That qumis sounds pretty interesting, btw. Perhaps adding a bit of coffee would make it taste like Bailey's? :)

looks great to me! I love real people, not plastic western ones....

these people are for sure real :) and kumys is a a good and healthy drink, a mare milk. i love it.
i guess the resolution has been lost through scanning. otherwise a beautiful picture too much cut at the bottom and maybe smaller depth of field would have helped to bring out the people in front

J'aime cet instant de vie, cette prise sur le vif, les expressions des visages... Hélas, des mains sont coupées, certains bustes auraient mérités d'être montrés. Peut être en taillant quelques sapins, un équilibre s'établirait.
