Photographer’s Note
This is the fifth in my Carnival series, though not the last.
The carny is a place of light and shadows, of surface and undercurrent. Here, on the surface of things, a boy contemplates a heaven of foot-long corn dogs (extra long hot dogs skewered on sticks, dipped in batter, and deep fried). Meanwhile nearby, unnoticed by him, the shadows talk to one another like ghosts.
I doubt there's a carny on Earth that isn't at least a little bit haunted.

Hi Lee,
very clean and colorful. I like the composition and how everyone appears busy doing their thing. The plump arm in the foreground, squeezing the doll does it for me.
Nice one!

your series is fantastic, Lee!
look at those colors!
this is america to the bones, uh?
(I know it sounds stupid, something like to say the capital of Brasil is BsAs) but you know when one is excentric (ex-center) things tend to merge somehow.

Another great one- I think this is maybe my favorite out of the group. The frame really helps make the picture- tons of color and then the chunky white to balance it out. Its like you're getting a peak into this magnificent colorful world. The shadows add a great feel to the shot- and they're a big part of the focus point.
(A corndog sounds really good right now. Maybe not a footlong, but I think there are some out in the freezer. I'll have to go look. :)
Well, great work again!

The rainbow of colors and bold signs really capture the essence of a carnival perfectly. The shadows are spooky! What are they actually? How can they be? To me it looks like the devil himself telling a little boy something, but what? Instructions to do something? A warning?

Deep shadows here enhance this series even more. Lee, I kid you not, buddy, you are coming into your own with this marvelous series. mMany are catching on to the obvious...
The colors here POP magnificently while sadder drams lurk in the shade.
Best,
Francis

Again love the colours, a typical summer day fun rides, very North American like picture with all the healthy foods, love the colours, love the signs, imo to make this image perfect the poeple/shadows should be somehow better organized to be more pleasing (this most likely wasn't possible or would require you to stand there 3 hours to get the perfect scenario).

Impressive colors to show the intens joy on this place by a tight shot on people towards the publicity.

Excellent couours and contrast - the reds are so RED - all the colours so vibrant. The quality of light, and the shadows are great.

Lee -
Wow, such vivid colors! I like the detail in the shadows inside of the HD stand but the play of the shadows on the vivid colors makes the image.
Thanks for sharing

I love this one Lee, when I see photos like this I realize even more why I only do colour photos. Great sense life here.

Hi Lee...
Eagerly awaiting another upload from you...I failed to notice this on my previous visits...
The colours here are SO bright...but are representative of the chaotic atmosphere at such an event. I think there is something almost sinister and slightly strange about these places...the strangely bright colours. The need for adrenalin, by sitting on rides...a very human approach to let off some steam...
some cool shadows on the floor...
