Photographer’s Note
This is a shot of Johnny Mercer Pier in Wrightsville beach one day before hurricane Ophelia came through North Carolina. This pier was once a wooden pier but was rebuilt concrete after a hurricane washed the old one away.

A hurricane is on it's way and yet there are still people on the pier. That is crazy. You are lucky your hurricane Ophelia wasn't as bad as my hurricane Katrina. Best of luck to you though if you did receive any damage.

Hello Brian: Nice photo of the coming storm. The people on the pier--and on the beach seem unconcerned with the approaching storm although you guys in that storm area seem to know when to flee. I like the way you showed the event
