One umbrella Photo

Photographer’s Note

Beach scene taken at beautiful Virginia Beach on the East coast of United State. I have first cropped at the bottom to emphasis the low point of view, then adjusted saturation of the sky with this different tone. It was a hot and sunny day in Va Beach, to bad to say the end of summer is close, I think I'll need beach view this winter, thanks in advance for your time.

Very nice picture. It seems surreal and an old time ad illustration, Just it misses some ad text on the burlywood color.

Hi Pierre
I like the POV and use of sunlight. The Sky has a strange colours as a background and the compo and crop is good.

Bonjour mon ami Pierre,
Une photographie très agréable à regarder avec la naïade au premier plan dont le teint se mélange à ce ciel venu d'ailleurs qui est du plus bel effet. Je comprends fort que vous souhaitez garder cette prise de vue pour les longues périodes d'hiver. Quant à l'ombrelle, les couleurs ressortent à merveille sur ce fond de ciel.

A nice summer scene from the beach, Pierre, with a good compositional interest provided by the umbrella and the offbeat way in which the guy installed it to protect himself from the sun. Not sure I'm 100% happy with the sky toning but in any case it lends a slightly surreal finishing touch.

C'est un stile très particulier avec ce ciel completement uni et ces corps au dessus de la mer.

Very nice beach scenery that you have captured here Pierre. Changing the color of the sky to a warm color made this look like a scene in one of those Italian movies. I agreed with luca that it made it look surreal. The composition, sharpness and exosure are very good.

Also, I want to thank you for your comment on my photo, "San Francisco Rowers". I appreciate it.

Effectivement, ton ciel semble peu naturel mais cela ne gène en rien dans ce cas.
La composition est très jolie. Le sujet très original.
Les couleurs vives des vètements et les "poses" des personnages font le reste.
Très joli cliché !

Salut Pierre,
c'est bien vu, l'angle de prise est parfait, l'ombrelle et ses couleurs font un bon effet sur ce ciel à la couleur étonnante et originale, bien la jeune femme en premier plan.
juste un détail, pour la composition l'ombrelle et un peu trop centrée, mais il était sans doute difficile de faire autrement.

I like the unusual apricot sky. The umbrella ads a nice splash of vibrant color. The woman sunbather, is easy on the eye, too!

Hi Pierre, this is a very relax scene. Good capture of the row of the beach goers relax under the sun and especially to the lady in the front. I am question about the reality of the sky. It is a strange sky color to me.

The strange sky here is well captured, Pierre. Seeing people sit under those colors, I think they are on Mars! Effective, typical-life scene.

Le ciel étrange ici est bien capturé, Pierre. Voyant les gens s'asseyent sous ces couleurs, je pensent qu'ils sont sur Mars ! Efficace, scène de la typique-vie.

I have never seen a sky with that color. It seems to add pretty well with the color tones of the sun bathers. A very coppertone impression of a beach scene Pierre.

Bon jour Pierre, due to your fine PP-work, this shot is not quite from this world - I like the overall effect this has. I like the rhythm formed by the sunbathers...and yes, I guess the umbrella set off to the 'sky' makes this shot. Good shooting and very nice PP-work here!

A nice lazy beach view Pierre. I like how everything here is pointing out toward the water, even the umbrella. The woman sunning at the lower left and the one walking at upper right create nice bookends to keep the eye in the scene and sort of wonder at that sky. I don't know about the adjustment but it still does have a sort of natural look. The right conditions could produce something just like this, so it works here. And it also adds to the very hot and muggy atmosphere and the feel of wanting to be lazy in it.

Its too funny on Trek to see the amount of viewings when there are ladies on the beach in swimsuits. The interesting thing in this shot is the background is so smooth which adds to the quality of the photo. good work. I enjoy my zoom lens too.

Hi Pierre,
A well composed shot with good colour, contrast and clarity. The scene is full of dynamism and beauty. The copper sky gives a unique ambience and the colours all blend well together. Even the fine texture of the sand is experienced. The colourful umbrella and the three bathers in total whose arms are extended give added enhancement. Perfectly framed and cropped. Well done.

Hi Pierre - very creative PP work, the colourful umbrella makes a great contrast, and the strange sky gives it a post nuclear apocalypse atmosphere.

That's a cool job of "manupulating" the image into an artistic approach. With good sharpness and PoV, the saturation of the sky blends quite well with the subjects.
But to my opinion, the saturation is a bit too over. Put it lightly a little to make the sense of balance mor worthly.
