Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken just before the start of More Plains in Ladakh. One can come across this place on the way to Leh from Manali. More plains are on the left side of the photo on the same side of the river from which the photo was taken. It is a very flat area at an average height of 4800 meters. The road traverses for a little more than 40 km through these plains.
I can't recall the name of this river, but I think it could be river Tsarap a tributary of the river Indus

Hi Sarju,
this landscape looks very interesting.
So wide the view.
Beautiful POV and composition,

Any photos I have seen of this river do not give this place justice. After driving for hours on end, it just appears from the middle of nowhere. Just a thought, possibly just keeping the left half and making this a portait shot. Great use of the wide angle though.

You did a better job on this shot, with colors you have no problems, just some sharpness and the right side ? Impressive view on this river Sarju.

Hi Sarju, Finally we see water in the dry land. Nice to see the different colors of the mountains, the contrast of the mountain under the sun and in the shade in this picture. An impressive mountain range. A well composed picture.

The water looks great streaming around like that- little threads twisting around the dry gulch. It makes a good photo subject. Nice work!

A refreshing change. Most photographers liked to shoot streets & people of India but a lot less on her countryside. The detail and colors of the river is well defined except for the washout on the upper right. You might like to invest in a graduated ND filter Sarju.

This another nice composition ... how come the right part is so dark .. it seems to me that you captured this photo in presence of enough light ... but anyways, it enhunced the beauty of this place ... I really love my country ... was the river dry ...?

This is the spot where I had a photo of mine taken on my Enfield Bullet way back in 1998. Time seems to stand still at this place and your photo captures the essence of the place perfectly. Thanks for sharing.

What a strange landscape. Mind expanding.
However the colours and contrast could have been less whitey.
