Photographer’s Note

As you can see here, CALVI port has only one wharf's station for the merchant ships of big size.
Here heading for the open sea, a cruising ship leaving bay after a short halt in CALVI. The come summer, many cruising ships make stopover there but remain often cast in bay to leave the quay place at the ships of the regular lines serving NICE and SAVONA primarily.
The photo one was shot since Notre-dame de la Serra vault, on the top of the city.

In Workshop, a view extended with, in the bottom, the punta di Spanu which closes bay.

Bonjour Pierre,
Voilà un des hauts lieux de cette ile de beauté.
Il a l'air de faire une chaleur pesante, un taux d'humidité élévé tout de même, l'horizon semble si 'loin'.
J'aime beaucoup ces fortifications à gauche.

Très belle vue de ce port, le tout baignant dans une lumière exceptionnelle ( exceptionnelle pour moi qui suis de la region parisienne, le soleil on le voit moin souvent !! )

A lovely postcard from this beautiful place, Pierre. The light and colorful details in this photo are quite stunning, and it would already look nice without the cruise ship - but the ship gives a special extra element that is also well located in the frame. Good work.

Superb composition!
Great colours and light. The town is wondeful. I love the contrast of the white of the cruise and the strong blue of the sea.

Superbe cette vue du port de Calvi. J'aime beaucoup cette composition qui permet de découvrir la ville, la citadelle et le port. Le bateau de croisière qui quitte le port semble surdimensionné par rapport à ce petit port et les bateaux de plaisance. Bon cadrage. L'image du WS est sympa aussi, mais je préfère celle-ci.

Superbe cette vue prise depuis ND de la Serra! La lumière est très belle et les couleurs chaudes sur la citadelle. J'aime bien monter la-haut lorsque je me rends sur Calvi, la vue sur la baie y est magnifique. Une très belle image, bravo!

Bon soir Pierre, this lovely shot from Calvi and its bay - it's so clear and well defined, the colours are so fresh - just perfect. The way the beautiful citadel bathes in the sunlight and dominates the vue makes this very special. Very good work!

Salut Pierre,

C'est le Bateau qui m'a fait ouvrir la vignette, car cela me rappelait Santorin, j'ai bien fait car on decrouvre en "Grand" format toute la slendeur du port notement la partie gauche. Le cadrage est parfaitement equilibré. Magnifique.
