Photographer’s Note

Pesmes, village of Haute-Saône (Franche-Comté) between the cities of Besançon and Dijon.

This village, born around a church and a castle in the 11th century, was part of the Holy Roman Empire's fortified towns. At that time, situated to the borders of Kingdom of France, it has been by turns pillaged, burned and ravaged by wars until annexation of Franche-Comté by France in 1678.

JPEG Quality: 70/100.

PS : There is no post-processing. The polarizing filter has naturally deepens the colors and contrasts.

Hello Philippe... I was just updating my favorites list and wondering what had happened to you. Welcome back. And it's a really inviting image you share. Very well framed by the trees. The bridge makes the jump across the river and helps direct the eye all the way across before going into the town. It looks imposing but also inviting with its warm tone and pleasant mix of colors and textures. And despite all the ravages it may have suffered it has come down to us today as a very picturesque village. Nicely photographed Philippe.

Justement, hier, je trouvais que cela faisait longtemps que tu n'avais plus posté de photo :-)))
Bravo, elle est magnifique. L'éclairage est parfait. Très beau cadrage et magnifique sujet. Ne parlons pas de la netteté.
Toutes mes félicitation pour ce supperbe cliché.

Ma curiosité m'a conduit jusqu'à toi et je découvre avec plaisir de beaux clichés, beaucoup comme je les aime!
Celui-ci est très bien cadré et la lumière fait bien ressortir toutes les couleurs et les reflets.

Tu reviens avec un joli post bien lumineux et joliment cadré.
Ces branches tout autour de la photo sont très bien vues.
La PDC est tip-top et la lumière est très bien managée.

Heureux que tu retrouves du temps pour la photo, Philippe, je guettais ton retour :)
Les couleurs, la lumière et la netteté de cette vue sont vraiment bonnes. La composition en légère contre-plongée est tout à fait appropriée et le pont qui entre dans le village sinon même dans les maisons conduit bien le regard. Les arbres à l'avant-plan ferment bien l'image, je trouve cependant leur masse sombre un peu excessive surtout à droite.

excellent point-de-vue; le cadrage est très appréciable et surtout: je ne constate pas de contours autour des objets provoqués par l'utilisation non calculée du filtrage USM.

Good to see you posting again Phillipe, and what a nice one to post. The light is good and well exposed, the polarizer has really brought out the colours here.
You are lucky to have so much history available. Here there is nothing over 200 years old (well buildings, bridges etc.). Very nice composition with lots to look at.

A beautiful image of a charming place with an interesting history, as I read from your note. I like the POV, the framing by the trees, the architecture and also the design of the village buildings.

Since I started posting my images here I discovered the wonders of PP, but still there is no substitute for an excellent photo taken in the first place. And yours is one of those images that conveys effortlessly the natural beauty of places we never knew existed.
