The Eagle - De Arend Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is the eagle (Arend) from the vilage Wouw in North Brabant. Built in 1811 and rebuilt after a fire in 1825. It is a "bergkorenmolen" (a cornmill on a litle hill like the hope).
The Dutch flag is still waving on the mill and the church tower! (it was queens day).

Don't think that Holland looks like this. It was just decorated for the picture. ;=) as you can see here and here were the heads are assembled!

Great shot with wonderful colours. I think it could possibly have been improved by following the rule of thirds and including some more of that wonderful foreground instead of the sky.

What a bright and beautiful flower carpet, its THE dream spring view of NL the tourists dream about, and not even the windmill is missing ! Good detail with the flag, one last step here could be to remove the wires and pylons, takes some time but doable.

It's burning in my screen Hendrik! Wow in Wouw.
Great to get such colours; it's a pity you didn't have a blue sky with some clouds.
The picture is as well wide as deep; very good result.

It is nearly perfect as a typical Dutch view. The only thing that disturbs it is the train line here.
