Photographer’s Note
**As this was my first photo submitted I thought I would come back and place a final version using what I learnt since joining. I have straightened the photo and adjusted the colour and contrast. To complete it I have sharpened the image. Do you think it is better than my first attempt?**
What attracted me to take this photo was the interesting shape of the water going over the weir. I was fascinated by the log that that was balanced on the edge. It was a beautiful day - sunny and the blue skies were fresh and clean. It is not often we get this light in this area. The tourists were out too...

the photo DOES look better! there is a huge improvement. Better colors here and really the sharping helped quite a lot. Good skills you have aquired here. One thing I see that needs ti be changed is: crop the image to the left to hide the side of the bridge from which you are makeing the shot. :)

Hi Garry
A very familiar vista for me. I agree that the PP has improved the picture overall. It always amazes me to see such huge pieces of driftwood in the river but it isn't an uncommon sight - I recall once seeing the weir when the river was very swollen, all that was visible was the top of the first step! I thought I was seeing things when what looked like a large tree came flying under the bridge and out over the top of wier - no chance of it getting stuck that day.
I like the lighting in this shot, it conveys the feeling of a bright and fresh day.
Regards, Sarah
