Photographer’s Note
This Elephant Seal is at Hannah Point, just off the Antarctic peninsula. It has come ashore to join one of the large groups of Elephant Seals which, at this time of year, stay ashore for a few weeks to moult (to shed their outer layer of skin).
The photo was taken around 4:30 am in less than perfrect light conditions, and required some adjustment of levels, minor contrast adjustment, and very minor cropping.
