Photographer’s Note
The Galapagos Marine Iguanas bask in the sun until evening. As the sun sets they slowly walk to the sea, use their tails to swim, and feed algae from the lava rocks underwater. Much of the white material on the forehead is dried salt secreted from a salt gland. This iguana had no problem posing 2 feet away.
