Pearl Beach Resort, Bora Bora, French Polynesia

The Pearl Beach Resort has 20 garden suites with private pools, 10 beach suites with private jacuzzis and 50 overwater bungalows. The overwater bungalows are linked to the main resort and beach by walkways, shown here. The overwater bungalows can sleep three people, but are mostly occupied by honeymooners and couples. They have a king size bed, futon/couch, a beautiful bathroom, tables that opens to the water below, and a deck with lounge chairs and shower. This happens to be my favorite hotel in the world. A word of advice to those staying on the beach or in the garden suites, especially...bring mosquito repellant by the gallon.

When we visited last year, we saw the future Ritz-Carlton under construction. The bungalows were twice this size and our Tahitian guide told us the floors were to be made of glass. This made us laugh when he joked that snorkelers would get more than they bargained for if they swam under someone's bathroom. The price for one night was reportedly $1500! Tahiti is an expensive destination, but well worth it.

PP: Cropped, removed color cast and levels.

See my workshop where I corrected the horizon, finally. :)

Cheryl,
Vraiment le paradis! Ces couleurs de fin de journée, le ciel, les constructions, la montagne, et le lagon, une harmonie parfaite!
merci de la partager.

Just on little thing, the picture is tilted but it's possible to correct.

Lovely!! Stunning colour of the water. The little lights on the walkway creates a nice atmosphere. Such a peaceful time of day. AS if everything can breathe again.

The reflection of light from lanterns over wooden deck is wonderful.
It's a true paradise. Thank for telling us.
The horizon can be adjusted easily by rotating CW 1° in PP.

la polynesie francaise n'est elle pas paradisiaque ???

Almost perfect. The compo well chosen, the incredible sky, and
the overall light are superb. Great job!

Ahhh! How beautiful that is! Bora Bora is definately my next destination! Thanks for sharing this awesome paradise picture, Cheryl!

Hello Madame Cheryl,

Very impressive shoot, i read that bora bora is in France, it's strange to read that, that's so far from my country... anyway what a dreamy destinations, and your picture is fabulous.
cheers
greg

Hi Cheryl -outstandingly beautiful and outrageously expensive. The light, composition and scenery all top notch here, congratulations. I have seen these bungalows in several magazines, though I don't think I can ever afford to stay there.

Wow, stunning view. A hilarious thought of snorkelers swimming under a glass floored bathroom. Where the heck is the privacy?

Gorgeous image, TFS!

This image impressed me even more. Very nice and the clouds in the background are simply beautiful. Well done and you definitely convinced me to go there once.
But horizon is a problem for me also. My photos are askew as well so now I use grid to check them first and then I see it.

Nice scene! Good angle, nice sharp picture. Well done!

Another paradise photo from you! The walkway and the backbround reminds me of a resort near Trang, Thailand. The yellow lights nicely illuminated the walkway. I'm in holiday mood now!

image fantastique!
image de paradise!!
good composition!
my dream.....
bye....aldo.

View of paradise, I agree with you... Good exposition and composition.

Hello Cheryl, I love this picture of paradise. The composition is great with the walkway leading into the frame and the huts on the right balanced by the mountains to the left. The illumination on the walkway is good bringing out the rich colour of the wood. And the sea is a beautiful blue-green colour. Oh and it's an interesting sky too - this pic has everything!

Excellent shot Cheryl, and good note. Lovely colour in the water. Well composed, leading the eye along the pathway to the bungalows.

cheryl, the time of the day you took this photo is perfect. the place is very beautiful but i don't think i can ever afford to stay in a place like that.

Really such an overwater bungalow is like a paradise on earth!

Way beyond my budget, but a beautiful place and a beautful photograph - tilt correct version that is ;) I like the warm early evening light that you captured, and the composition is excellent, sticking to all the classic 'rules' of composition. Cheers . . . David
