| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| In the Twi language (spoken widely in southern Ghana), "obroni" is the word for "white person." This little girl at Fafraha orphanage was only 3 years old, and she could not remember my name. Instead of calling me "teacher" (since she spoke no English), she shouted "obroni!" whenever she wanted my attention. On this particular day, things got a little out of hand in the classroom, and she ended up with white chalk all over her face. I pointed at her and started shouting "Obroni! Obroni!" She cracked up. The more I yelled, the louder she laughed. After I took this photo, we abandoned learning for the day and took to coloring each other with chalk. |

Hi Leanne Marie - again a great one - your little model is wonderful - I like this bigggg smile -
In Ivory Coast or in Mali, white people are named "Toubabou" or "Blofoue" or "Guignen".
Have a nice week end
