Photographer’s Note
This picture of Huanglong shows the fabulous blue pools in context. The crystal waters held behind golden walls look out of place with a backdrop of dark forest and snowy peaks.
Behind the pools is a wooden walkway. The Chinese have made walking in this remote area as easy as possible. But it's still a tough climb with the head of this valley at nearly 4000m.

Wow! These pools have such a beautiful blue colour, and this is even more amazing considering it was an overcast day. I like this one because it shows the trees and hills behind, as well as a lot of detail in the foreground pool. Well done!

Bonjour Jonathan,
Daniel.

Hi Jonathan,
I'm a bit busy due to the WWW but I had seen this one and knew I had to come back to tell you I really love it, it has the superb colors of the previous one, but I find this PoV even better and also the vertical framing enhances here well the sensation of depth.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Jonathan
Another great shot of these fabulous pools. The colours are truly remarkable, especially against the gloomy backdrop and snowy peaks! Absolutely fascinating and amazing!

Hi Jonathan. This one popped up at random when checking out your gallery. It's not the first time I've seen a photograph of these pools, but yours is the best I've seen because you found a POV that really puts them into context. We can see the detail in the foreground, the overall structure in the middle distance and how they are located in the valley with the inclusion of the mountains in the background. It doesn't look like it was a great day to be there, but you've made the best of it with this shot. Cheers . . . David
