Photographer’s Note
Warwick Square Mews, London.
Imagine finding a place in central London that is quite (no street noise), peaceful, and inviting. Well, it exists just 2 city blocks from Victoria Station just off the Brompton Road. (Brompton Road is just behind the trees in the background of this image.) My wife and I were staying on the noisey Brompton Road and began an early evening walk to find a fish and chips shop when we happened across this quite deadend street. I went back to the hotel for the camera gear and we spent about 15-minutes taking photographs of the street. We had some interest from the residents but they gave us permission to photograph their lovely oasis.
To this day I am amazed at the lack of city noise when we entered the street.

Very peaceful setting. I like all the green plants growing up the walls. You are right. Can't believe it is in the city. I like the old cobblestone path between relatively new buildings.

Hi John,
A well composed scene rendered with good colour and clarity. I like the warm evening hues and tones here. That is part of the magic of London, which never ceases to fascinate me. The clarity of this image is excellent and I also like the varying hues of brown and green. A very satisfying shot which I'm glad you posted.

Hi John
I am so amazed just looking at this picture
its really hard to believe that such place exists in London ... I will definitely go there whenever I get a chance to visit England again ... thanks for sharing .. cheers ... sarju
PS: nice compositin ... this photo reminds of the kind of houses that I grew up in India (needless to say that they were very old ones and constructed by the british)
PSS: what do you think about this practice of fist cutting down all the trees and than making houses in North America .. one feels like living in a desert

You were lucky to find this oasis John. We usually avoid London like the plague but I can understand why tourists like to go there.
I like this mews shot with the cobbled street and the plants. Well done

Hello John,
well, it does not look as one of the busiest cities at all:)it is more of an oasis of peace whose inhabitants take good care of their plants and live in harmony with nature. good that such places still exist in this busy world, especialy in its very center. it would be nice to live there, don't you think?
p.s. like the framing and the warmth of the colors
Piotr
