Photographer’s Note
MasaÏs children
Masaïs are divided into patrilineal clans and age groups. The men are in turn children, warriors then elders, each one of these passages is accompanied by initiatory rites. The marriages of the girls are often negotiated by the fathers before their birth. But, within the same age group, the relations except marriage are regarded as natural
These children play in front of a very dense hedge of thorn-bush which surrounds the village to protect the villagers and the cattle from the predators.
These comments are inspired by the site WIKIPEDIA.ORG.
Other shots concerning my trip to Kenya are posted on TrekNature.
The original photograph was digitized with a scaner AGFA SnapScan e50, then improved with Photoshop CS as follows:

Salut Patrick,
Je ne savais pas que tu avais autant de belles photos d'Afrique dans tes archives!
Ce qui me frappe et qui me plait dans cette photo, c'est cette complicité et cet amitié qui se dégage dans l'attitude de ces deux enfants.
Amitiés.
