Portrait of MasaÏ woman

Unlike many tribal cultures, Maasai women have a strong voice in their culture. Maasai women are easily identified by their shaved heads, bright clothing and beads, and the removal of one of the bottom teeth (for both sexes).
Circumcision is performed on both sexes, with the elder men circumcising the teenage boys (who are not permitted to make a noise during the ceremony), and the elder women circumcising the teenage girls (for whom crying is permitted).
Attempts by the Kenyan government to stamp out this practice have failed, primarily due to the fact that it is the Maasai women who defend the practice, not the men.

Les couleurs et la luminosite sont bonne.
Le cadrage et la legere inclinaison de la tete en font une belle compo.

I like this portrait. It is very well cropped, also shows the details of the face of this ethnic representative. You could only sharp it a bit - just for internet purpose. The note was also very interesting.

Hello Patrick,
ils sont sympas tes visages du Kenya, c'est un tres beau portrait, bien colore. J'aime bien la couleur de sa peau, un peu trop eclairee peut etre a mon gout. Cependant son expression est intense.
