Photographer’s Note

This is an old Ukrainian Orthodox Church just North of Brooksby. I don't know what the name of the church actually is. It is currently abandoned and will probably gone in the in the not to distant future.
At one time these churches, with their destinctive 'Onion Domes', could be found in every little community where the Ukrainians settled. But now, like the grain elevator, they are starting to disappear.
This picture was taken just as the sun was starting to set. I liked the way the window just over the door, along with one of the tombstones, picked up some of the sunset colour.

Really nice. I was in that region a month ago and what a surprise to see all those community, Ukrainian, chinese and Native over there...

It's distinguish the canada to a lot of other country.
This is a good picture for TrekEarth because it make people discovering this fact about Canada.

Very good capture of this relic.
Well lighted and good detail.
As this is number one,I hope that you waited long enough to take it with a colorful sky.
This one is ideal in order to see all the details.
Keep those pic. these church wont last and this will be the only document.

Very nice and interesting picture. I like the texture of the church - very fine rendered. On the other hand it looks like view from Poland - we have here a lot of really beautiful old wooden post-ukrainian churches...

Superbe composition, avec de jolies couleurs. L'église se découpe bien dans ce très beau ciel. Pour le plaisir, je te propose un WS, peut-être pour ne pas avoir le sujet centré, et sans prétention.

this shot brings back many memories of traveling through the Prairies.
The church stands out nicely against the sky- good composition. The overcast sky actually helps bringout the weathered siding of the church.
