Today I bring you the Ajuda's Botanical Garden, the oldest botanical garden in Portugal; in this photo you can also see some Lisbon roofs, the 25th April bridge and the King's Christ.

"Ajuda's Botanical Garden is the oldest botanical garden in Portugal. Built in 1768 by order of the Pombal Marquis, this garden was used by the princesses of the Ajuda Palace and was used as a gathering point for all the species that were brought by the Portuguese discoverers from other countries.

Located in Ajuda, this garden has trees more than a century old and a wonderful view of the Tagus river. Divided into three different areas, Ajuda's Botanical Garden countains four hothouses, one of which being actually used as a restaurant, three lakes, porcelain flower-pots from the 19th century, an 18th-century fountain decorated with writhing serpents, winged fish, sea horses and mythical creatures and many plants and flowers.

The entrance, through green wrought-iron gates in a pink wall, is easy to miss. Opened between 9 am and 8 pm."

Bonjour Paulo,
une composition simple mais remplie de charme, d'excellentes couleurs. Une mise au point pricise, DOF parfaite et ce cadrage qui inclut ces arbres au premier plan.
Agréable à parcourir des yeux, on aimerait s'y rendre et le faire à pied.

hello paulo, good shot here, good natural framing with the trees, nice colours, the path down the left hand side is nice, as is the DOF, well done!

Que vista privilegiada! Adoro caminhar no Jardim Botânico. Lindas cores, profundidade de campo, nitidez, além, é claro, da composição excelente. Muito bom!

I find the three elements together wonderful, the bridge is splendid, the statue on the background, but also the foreground the branches around and beautiful garden make your composition lovely.

Olá Paulo. An appealing photo with the colorful foreground details of the garden. What adds even more interest though are the background structures - the bridge and the tower. Very nice ensemble of elements, in which the deep DOF works well and the sun is ideally positioned to illuminate everything at the best.

What a wonderful view and great composition with the gardens in front and then the bridge and the statue. I especially like the bridge very much, of course. ;-) (I'll put it in my theme as well).
The branches are also very good, well done!

Once again, those Lisbon rooftops I find so fascinating! Lots going on in this photo too. And, once again the framing at the top is definately a nice added touch!
