Photographer’s Note

This was taken at one of the many beaches on the shores of Lake Michigan. Union Pier is a small town by New Buffalo, Michigan, and is situated right by the lake. We've spent a weekend there.... the umbrellas were always somewhere in the center of my view, so I had to take the shot:) I know this picture could've been better if I only stood up to get higher perspective.... but what can I tell you ... it was awefuly hot (100s) and I was enjoying my cold beer:))
The beach remindes me a bit of beaches at Baltic Seas.... dunes, forest...etc:). Whole town of Union Pier is located on US Route 12 which was the main highway in 1930s in the area (before the interstates). It's considered part of the Lake Michigan scenic route.

Good idea, i like that colorful image. Umbrellas are a very common shot during the summer, but few picture have something of new.
this is one of the few! excellent focus on the first one, with a fantastic background.
good also the light.

A great summer image with wonderful bright colours. The tight crop and shallow depth of field has produced a bold graphical image.

no i bardzo podoba mi sie to ze parasol na pierwszym planie powiewa, dzieki temu jest wiecej ekspresji...

i like the colors , try cropping from bottom to top till you arrive at the first umbrella , then retrouch taking out the part of the third umbrella , it would be a nice panoramic and abstract view , try it and give me a reply . regards .

hello a nice colourful image here! maybe something more suitable for TL, but its a very nice shot all the same, the focus is just right and the one in the background looks nice too! well done a sucessful shoot!
