Pigs on the beach Photo

Photographer’s Note

One of the most important values on the islands of Polynesia are: PIGS. They are good as presents, as guardpigs, as toys, as means of payment and of course good for big meals. Big ans little pigs run around the villages and streets of Savaii and also visit the most beautifull beaches. They a part of the daily life in Samoa.

je suis toujours fasciné par tes contrastes, on dirait que ton polarisant agit bien mieux que le mien.
Le ciel est splendide et cette eauaux mille vaguelettes et qui reflète tant de lumière, c'est uun délice pour les yeux.

Excellent angle and polarizing effect. I expected the sand to be more yellow. Did you also modified the blue tonality? Very good shot, well balanced.

Ohh, you lucky man. My biggist wish is to wisit Samoa (western ofcourse). Wonderful picture, cleare and bright. Terific sky, and beach,but where are the pigs? Aare they litle black dots on the end of the beach ?

what a magnificient place You've captured. I love photos with Polarizing Filters. The colour of the sky in upper-left corner is alomost black (at least on my monitor ;) and turns into deep blue in the middle, on that background white clouds looks perfect and the water is beautyful. I would probably prefer black or white frame, but anyway Your photo is great!

Lovely photo and interesting notes, otherwise worthy of a big smiley from me, but...

Intentionally or otherwise, I feel I've been drawn in by a very intriguing title that lead nowhere. You tell us there are pigs on the beach, but we can't see them (without, perhaps, a hi-res version to magnify). I suspect I'm not the first to feel this way, judging from over 1300 views. Nice work, but a touch misleading.

this is one of the best skys and water I have seen in a while. Most ofthe time skys look over saturated but this looks very natural and superb. the water is wonderful too. I love the exposure on the clouds. Really well done

Hi Thomas, perfect use of polarizing filter. Awsome sky with all types of cumulus clouds. The water is a huge invitation. Pigs on the beach? Is that really the most important thing on this picture? That must be a joke?!

A very nice picture of a fabulous beach.
Use of polariser is superb to obtain such water colors.
Sharpness seems to be better on the right than on the left part of the shot.

I loved the contrast and color shifts in the picture. It's superb except for the clouds on the left do not pose as sharp as the ones in the rest of the picture. They might as well be left out?.. But I would blame the clouds, not you. Cheers,

Great shot! landscape is really beautiful with this blue sky and so fantastic. Sea colors are superb.
It is a very good picture, a fine composition but title doesn't match, IMO, 'cause if you look at it, pigs are so little that they didn't catch your attention...

Are the pigs the black dots in the distance? I would have just presented the beautiful scene since the pigs are just blobs of black... or maybe I am missing something... A wonderful Oceanscape, beautiful sky but the clouds have lost a bit of detail in their highlight from over saturation/enhancements.
