Photographer’s Note
This pic was taken in Dalian, a major port in Liaoning Provence in northern China. But there are plenty of places in Dalian which look very different to most peoples expectations of Chinese scenery. This is an example, taken in a park on the south coast of the city. There are many flower gardens with windmills and other European scenery thrown in for good measure.
I took this with my 18-35mm lens (on a film SLR). This very wide lens is a recent acquisition, so I'm still learning how to take interesting photos with it. I focused on the white flowers in the foreground and used a small aperture to get as much as possible in focus. Comments which help me to use wide lenses are very much appreciated.
This is a scan from the negative. Whenever I get film developed I get it scanned on to CD at 3600x2400 pixels at the same time.

Very nice composition Josh and great angle to shoot from.Perhaps a rotation of image is needed to lessen the slant of the windmill.

Josh
It's a well done composition, good colors, but I would like to see the windmill a little more to the right, so it would be less acumulated.
Really sounds Netherland, and I must say, Windmills are all over the world. If you have time, please check my picture "Tropical Netherlands".
Good job.
