This was taken early in the morning as the first light was starting to shine on Machu Picchu. This part of the grounds sets to the southeast of the long green plaza so often seen in pictures of Machu Picchu.

Two interesting subjects linked.
The ruins and the fascination of a special civilization.
And nature and beautiful landscapes.
Great play with the light and the rays.
David

What a stunning photo and a view. No wonder it was a temple to the gods. Very good composition, with great colours.

I like this a lot! The composition is great, with the diagonal line running across the frame and lots of nice detail in the stones. What really makes this special is the rays of light coming over the mountains - Superb! I have something similar from Nepal, but I like yours better.

Not the classic Machu Pichu shot and that's good! You also captured a very nice light.

Hi Todd,
excellent picture of a well known place, not the classical view.
The light is excellent, too.
I like the mountains on the background, nice mist effect.
Well done !

Hi Todd lovely image, such wonderful light,I never tire of looking at pics of this place.
Very nicely captured.
Dave.

Very nice photo. I like the composition, the mountains, this early morning light and the colours. But I miss a little more of contrast (not in the background). I think that these ruins should be a bit stronger. But it is a good photo anyway.

good work

Hi Todd A
Excellent lights. Well POV. Good composition. Very nice shot. Thnaks for sharing. HUY

Hi Todd,
I love this view that benefits from excellent morning light, also the descending diagonal is nice and sets a strong light difference between the foreground (that shows well the setting in terraces of the buildings) and the background mountains. Just pity you have cut the top of one peak, but to my eyes this view is excellent.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves
