Flying from Fort Simpson to Nahanni National Park, an isolated park in Northwest Territories. The park is 145 km west of Fort Simpson and 1046 km northwest of Edmonton. There are NO ROADS to Nahanni. Visitors fly into the park by chartered aircraft.

Nahanni is Canada's premier wilderness river. Nahanni National Park Reserve protect a superb portion of the Mackenzie Mountains in Canada. The river valley is its centerpiece. If you accept the wilderness conditions of the park, Nahanni can offer you adventure, solitude and magnificent scenery - Canada's deepest river canyons, its greatest waterfall, a vast wilderness of wildlife and forests.

Nahanni was established in 1974 as a park reserve. Since then, the park has been designeted as a World Heritage Area of global significance by UNESCO and South Nahanni has been recognized as a Canadian Heritage River.
