Door of Dar el Makhzen, the royal palace in Fes. I don't know if the cat was waiting for supper to be set out or just lounging around.

From the central plaza you can take a close look at the door's giant brass knockers, made by artisans from Fez el Bali, as well as the brass doors themselves. Inside are various palaces, gardens, and Places des Armes (arms squares or parade grounds), as well as a medersa founded in 1320. One of the palaces, Dar el Qimma, one of the wonders of Dar el Makhzen, has intricately engraved and painted ceilings. The palace is located in Fès el-Jedid, next to the former Jewish quarter.

The phot is good but it needs to be rotated a bit as seems to be leaning to the left. The cat is a very cute detail. This palce appears majestic and the patters of the wall i find fascinating. The door is gorgeous.

What an amazing amount of detail there is in this door, so beautiful and you've captured it so well. I'm not sure it needs to be tilted so much as twisted, as the bottom of the door appears to be straight, just the right side. I think you've lined it up as well as you could. Super photo, I LOVE door photos and this is the most ornate one I've seen TFS, well done.

Hi Josh,

A lot of details in this beautiful door, and a nice sharpness that helps us to contemplate them.
I like the basic symmetry you choose for this shot. A simple composition, and it works perfectly as the door has sooo many ornements - no need for further complications.

And the presence of the cat is a nice unexpected detail :o) well done !
