Photographer’s Note

Proxy Falls is located about 1 mile off the historic McKenzie Highway (SR242) near Alder Springs campground in the Oregon Cascade mtns. It is fed by glacier and snow melt which percolates down through the porous lava beds and forms Proxy Creek. The creek disappears again into the lava beds close to the base of the falls and re-appears again suddenly further down hill. The trees are predominately Douglas Fir with cedar and maples scattered in.

Cropped, re-sized, curves, usm.
