Photographer’s Note

Arrowtown is a rather smallish town in just 15 km from Queenstown. It is based on the banks of Arrow river where the gold was found 1862. The Arrow River became famed as one of the world's richest sources of alluvial gold and Arrowtown was known as the city of miners for many decades. With the settlers coming from Americas, Europe and Australia many non-native trees were planted in the area, becoming one of the major Autumn attractions of the region.
