Photographer’s Note

Returning home from a day out biking I was taken by this scene. I only had my little point & shoot 35mm with me so I put it on the top of a fence post and let the autoexposure do its thing (so I don't know aperture or shutter speed - sorry). I am pleased with the results - hope you like it.

The composition is nice, the only thing it misses is the sharpness ,,,

A really lovely capture, Mike. Good work with what you had on your bike! I like the blurry lady and dog on the left side of the photo. I think the horizon is tilted a touch but this could be corrected with Photoshop.

I like the reflections. Very nice. The sky is very proper too. Composition is correct. Quite a professional shot. Quality could have been a little better, seems somewhat grainy. Thanks for posting.

nice shot man .... very nice evening colours and the bridge looks very regal ... I might would have underexposed this photo to make the colours of bridge and sky prominent
neways ... its an excellent shot ... the one I never took even though I took this path almost everyday for three years ... on skates in winters and on bike the rest of the time

Hey Mike.

Like the phot obut there are a few points I woudl like to make. First of al lI feel the streetlight in the top left corner is too bright and coudl easily be cropped or cloned out as i think it spoils the photo a bit, and secondly its a touch grainy in parts, but after reading of your circumstances you did an excellent job!

Nothing a slight crop and run through neat image woudlnt fix.

In fact Ive done that for you : )

The lights under the bridge are very cool. They make an interesting reflection. The picture has a slight tilt down left,but other than that- I like it a lot!

Superb image, if a little off centre. Needs straightening. Might try a workshop.

Hello Mike, I think we live in the same town :)

I love this picture and also the workshop you have received.

You did great composition and great details. As for neat image, I must do some research to know more about it. Personnally I use ArcSoft PhotoStudio in tab: Enhance, under Smooth Filters: Despeckle. Must be something similar as Neat Image but maybe more limitative.

It's nice to see your photos and have Ottawa seen through your eyes :)
