Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken on the lovely island Gran Canaria. If/when you take a trip around the island you will find lovely places. GC is a lot more than "tourist hell".
What I especially like about this photo is the triangular geometry, ie the mountains.

And you're so right about it,Alan. The geometry is, for me, the most important element. But the picture is very powerful! Looks like an unreal place. Great job.

the geometry really adds interest to this image. all the receeding pyrimids. wonder if a small crop off the top would help here as the one angle runs so very close to the corner. like the different shades of rocks also very nice image.

Very solid. The gradation of light and shadows is wonderful. Increasing contrast and sharpening will give more detail (especially to the rock formation on the cliffs) and depth.

You are so right, the triangular geometry is amazing, almost looks like the teeth of a giant saw. Ken's suggestion of increasing contrast I agree with. Adding sharpening might cause some halos near the edges since these edges are already quite sharp. Anothing you could try is the Constrast Mask technique (which I never really succeeded in mastering) but also by using the simple Burn tool on the shadows of the three mountains at the rear, I believe that you could increase the contrast and

powerful landscape, those mountains look like pyramids, i see an interesting framing, with the mountain in the foreground as a diagonal... well done

Allan, when I saw this I thought Tenerife and I wasn't far off. Just one island away. You are right the geometry is fascinating but also the light coming in from the left behind the mountains creating a funny contrast. Makes one slightly dizzy.

Wonderful sawtooth shoreline. Good job with the exposure in such harsh mid-day light.

Good picture with good composition, framing and colours. I have a similar (not so good) picture at this same place. Hope to upload it some day
