Photographer’s Note
A snapshot of Plymouth from the train on a very grey day. I se british city-architecture. The original photo is very dull and grey, so I had to work on the computer with highlight and midtone.

The way all those tiny looking houses follow each others is truly fantastic! All lined up, one next to the other, according to the difference in level, with an occasional coat of paint to differentiate a few of them... It's so fascinating it looks like a child's game with building blocks, forever playing with repetitive patterns!
Too bad you did catch completely the clothesline, Erling: isn't it the perfect metaphor for the whole town planning, right on the other side of the street, up the hill and beyond?
You should have asked the train conductor to stop for a few seconds and allow you to take a few more shots... ;-)

this photo is taking me back 15 years ago, during my 1st trip to England with my school, in Plymouth !!! so many memories, thank you for bringing them back !
I like the lines of houses and their roofs, it looks like a doll's village, really strange.
