Village of Charonne ... in Paris !

It is really a nice place. I recommend you to visit the Saint-Blaise district if you want to experience a different Paris. If you are fed up with Tower Eiffel or Saint-Germain des Prés like I am, then this is worth visiting for you.

Charonne is an old district of the 20th district, a popular one. You can see here the Saint-Blaise street, and the church ... Saint-Germain (!) in Bagnolet street.

Bagnolet street ... this sounds very funny :)

Technique : use of the tilt. I should say first use of the tilt. I often see this technique in TE and I always find it very interesting. Here, the subject, woman and child, was the moment to use the tilt to emphasize perspective.

Tomorrow (after my economic history exam aaarrrgh 'o' )
I will send a new one with a different technique to compare. And talk about Charonne after some research :)

PS. I thought about another title : Paris ?! :)

sympa en effet ce village. j'ai des amis qui habitent dans ce coin.
j'aime assez ton tilt ici, il donne un côté moderne à cette vue assez tranqquille.
chouette cette ligne de poteaux en bord de rue.

Hum, j'aime bien ce gros tilt! Ca dynamise très bien cette photo.
Je ne connais pas ce quartier mais ca fait vraimnet petit village au coeur de Paris.

je connais ce quartier :-) le tilt est bien utilisé ici pour la pente à monter. Ce n'est paspour rien que la maman soit descendu du vélo.
C'est bien de poster une vue de Paris que personnes ne voient habituellement en voyage.

Very nice angle and good framing. It's pity the sky is overexposed. I wish there were more people in the photo, which could liven up the scene.

Im digging the tilt. Its a good one and its appropriate. Very clear that it was intended. It twists a nice composition and makes it something far more interesting. Im looking forward to your other photo for comparison.

Tiens, bizarre de voir que c'est Paris. Mais bon, tant mieux! J'aime bien comment tu as penché l'image; la composition est très bonne. Dommage pour la surexposition sur les murs, mais ca reste une belle photo évidemment.

The tilt makes this interesting photo even more interesting. I do confess to not knowing its function, though. The overexposure here serves to take attention upward--perhaps toward a goal, and so I see it as a tool for photo storytelling and not a mistake.

PAs facile comme exposition, surtout entre ciel et premier plan, j'avoue ne pas trop aimé ces ciels blancs, par contre le cadrage en tilt me plait mieux.

Me gusta ésta. No solo la inclinación de la foto, sino:
a) como has integrado a la madre con el niño en la bicicleta,
b) el contraste cielo-calle.

Por otra parte, ¿un exámen de historia?. Hoy yo he tenido mi primera prueba de oposiciones de Historia... Es jodío. Pero es lo que toca.

Good use of the tilt. When well used always create attractive, dynamic images. And this is on of the cases.

Besides this, I like the overexposure in the sky and brightness in the top part, which help us focus in the most balanced and detailed part of the image, where the action is.

Could work well in BW too.

la présentation est original, l'effet est interesssant. Les contrastes entre les parties à l'ombre et celle très éclairée sont pas mal rendus.

Peu de quartiers de Paris sont décrits en dehors des zones touristiques.
Le cadrage est franchement original aux couleurs pastels.
Entre nous je préfère avoir moins de cadre qui réduit le format de l'image.
Personnellement de mon côté j'encadre uniquement au mur de mon salon.:))
