Photographer’s Note

This photo was taken from Mt Hutt on the South Island of New Zealand.

This was just after the sunrise and the clouds were just clearing for the most spectacular day. Everyone is on the deck getting ready for their day out on the slopes.

Iknow there are faults with this photo, but it still seems to capture me. Its like nature is waiting.... Or the mountain is looking over the people.

Hi Rikki Lee...this is actually a cool photo. Your perspective is good - it's just a little dark in the foreground which unfortunately is your focal point. I've done a WS on it...maybe it might get the attention it deserves.

I enjoy this picture, it gives a good idea of what skiing in New Zealand is like. It's ok that your focus is on the people, the background is misty anyway and fades appealingly into the sky. I like the original better than Cruize's photoshop, it looks too artificial and the colours are oddly blue. The photo is a bit cut off at the bottom, a wee bit more bench would have improved the picture; if the sitting person wasn't cut of so radically it wouldn't be so obvious that 3 people's feet are missing. But that's details, surely the pleasure of skiing and just being there was more important!
