Photographer’s Note
Back to Canada for today's post.
I am going to continue with my theme of typical views.
This photo was taken from probably the most commercialized part of Canada. Yes you got it right ... its taken from Niagara Falls, Canada.
In the photo you can see the American Falls and the Bridal Veil falls (much smaller falls on the right). These falls are not as pretty as the Canadian Horseshoe falls but it was much easier to take a photo of these falsl rather than that of the Canadian Falls. The reason being that there is always so much of mist around the the Canadian falls that is usually blowing towards the canadian side.
So what do you think about this photo ... well it is such a typical shot, I don't think it will do well on TE, but I guess to continue with my gallery, I had to post something from Niagara Falls
Facts
The American Falls is 53 meters or 170 ft. Its width is 330 meters or 1,100 feet across.
My Dilemma
I had a hard time deciding whether I should put this photo in Canada or USA, the catch is that the Falls in the photo are on the American side but I took this photo from the Canadian side. What do the other members think I should have done about US/Canada.

Ok picture. As you say its a very typical view. From a composition point of view it would look better if the branches in the foreground were cut out.

after I bought the digital camera I've been wanting to take the falls and couldn't do it. I know it is difficult to find a good spot because of the crowd there. But I guess it could have been sharpened more. Nevertheless a good picture. I guess you took it with the light on the falls.

Great shot. I think the niagara falls really works really well at night. I am not to sure if i like the leaves in the front right. Has this been scanned? Possibly just a little rotation clockwise. Well Done.

Hi Sarju, I like it. I think it does well on TE. I wish I were there to see it myself. Great and mystic light. It looks a bit unreal, like an artwork of Cristo.

Hi Sarju. Great composition and excellent lighting here. The foreground greenery to me is quite appropriate and enhances. The only improvement I can see would be running Neat Shop or equivalent to eliminate sky noise. Otherwise a very well captured shot of the Falls. Well done

Hi Sarju,
Very nice long exposure of the Niagara Falls. The picture has a dreamt quality to it, and I like it.
Including the tree at the front is a superb choice.
The noise levels however are very high, i have posted a workshop with neat image to rty and reduce some of the noise.
Friendly,
J.

Light control is excellent.

Whatever side of the border, this side of the waterfall is expressive enough. And for a night shot, the veil is pretty rich. It is a bit soft but understandable for a long exposure and with high humidity and breeziness contributing to its haziness. There are grains on the night sky you might like to work at Sarju. Like any other beautiful scene, you need to get there over times to get that perfect shot.
..And by the way, thank you Sarju for mentioning my warped speed work.
Namaste
Bani
