Photos

This is a photograph of Reynisdrangar Rocks, just off the cliffs and beach near Vik, in Southern Iceland.

In the photograph you can see the black lava cliffs on the left, and the two columns in the sea, formed when the rock joining them to the headland has eroded to leave them standing on their own. The jet-black lava sand beach is also clearly visible (complete with tourist who I hadnt spotted in the composition until I got home, but hopefully doesnt spoil the picture too much!). You can also faintly see the sun or the moon (not sure which!) behind the clouds in the top right.

The photograph was actually taken in colour, but the weather was terrible and this was taken in a quick break from snow, and with the grey clouds and black rocks, it almost looks black and white.

I've added a workshop to see what effect actually converting the photo to black & white has.

I am unsure which version is the best now!
