Photographer’s Note

An attempt to shoot something that has been taken so many times in a different light... only wish it would have been slightly lighter that day as this image came out darker than I would have liked.

Hi,
I like the result of your attempt. The main subject is well framed. Perhaps a pity that the bell-tower is not really vertical.

Hope you don't mind, but I did a very quick and easy worskhop just to straighten and lighten the main subject of your shot.

well done, cora! :-)
i always enjoy different views of "common" things,
like Big Ben.
the b&w is great, gives the photo this special "old" touch,
together with the "natural" frame from the fence..i like it!
just a little fog now and you´re inside a jack-the-ripper
movie or so.*g*.

Thorsten kind of captured my thoughts here, the dull conditions worked in your favour and compliment the ironwork for an Old London feel, the trees seem to be pulling the building down a sense aided by the slight lean, I feel a perfect vertical would lose some of the danger here, grubbing around in the undergrowth. It's good vision Cora.

However the picture is too dark (oh, the weather in England:-)) I always like to see, how people can find a perspective of a well-known building and you succeeded wel here !
