lovely colors Caleb... really a beautiful portrait... you pictures and portraits are indeed getting better all the time..
keep on the good work.

When first saw the icon, I told myself "I saw this in National Geo".
Opening it, I think it is not much different from the picture taken in Afghanistan. Thanks for sharing.

Regards,

Squarred compo, variations around red color, a little bit cropped portrait; I really like it. The expression on the face is so particular.
I don't know if I'll begin to post indonesian pictures tomorrow, but I have seen in your gallery people I seen in Ubud in theese famous days around 25 of july, last day...

well, I am surprised to see those "like in National Geographic" comments. There is no sharpness anywhere, nice thumbnail , but thats all.

Beautiful portrait Caleb. The vivid colors truly stand out nicely (even in thumbnail!). It does lack sharpness or maybe it is too grainy - can't decide. It looks like there are two tourists in the bacground. Usually, it is not a good thing for me but this time it seems to work as the expression in this girl's eyes says it all .... She doesn't seem to be too happy about it - that's what this picture tells me (my interpretation) and for this I like it.

good shot.

Krzysztof

Very beautiful portrait, Caleb. But the photo might be hiding something sinister...she looks hardly 12 years old to me, and her over-the-head veil might indicate she is already married...not certain but there is the possibility.

[People are too hung up about sharpness here...it is a misguided concern for a grabshot portrait such as this. The focus is spot on critically on the pair of eyes, in fact on the pupils, so the rest of the face is slightly off the focal plane--as it should be. I think it was taken at f/2.8 at or near 70mm, so the lens' quality is stretched to the limit defined by its inherent spherical aberration...merely a technicality]

Beautiful soulful portrait Caleb - your portraits like this are masterclass every time I open one! I really worry a bit about this 'sharpness' thing too - I want variety in my photographs not monocultural standards imposed by a contemporary trend - the holy grail is not sharpness - much as I love clear sharp images - I love images for a thousand other reasons too!

best wishes

Kev

Nice capture of the girl, lovely expressions and beautiful light on her. Very colourful too.

Caleb, a very strong photo. It seem like her eyes hides thousand stories. Wonderful colors. Bala
Greeny tomorrow.

one of the few powerful shots i have seen recently. I agree with what Animesh talks about here.
the colors are extra vibrant, and this keeps the drama alive.
terrific!

I don't see any mundaness in her expression. It is as if you weren't there at all.
