La cathédrale de Metz a été construite avec une pierre jaune des environs (pierre de Jaumont) entre 1220 et 1500. Cette photo a été prise aux alentours de 5 heures du soir. Le soleil commençait à décliner.

The cathedral of Metz (gothique) was built from a yellow stone called "pierre de Jaumont" between 1220 and 1520. This picture was taken around 5 PM with the sun already down in the sky.

Tiens tiens, la Cathédrale de Metz. très belle lumière sur la pierre de Jaumont. Belle photo de ce grand bâtiment pas facile à photographier.
Ce portail est la dernière étape de construction, elle date de la première annexion allemande(1871 - 1918). Le personnage à droite représente l'empereur Guillaume II. Il avait une belle moustache qui a été rasée au retour de Metz en novembre 1918 au territoire français.

I really like this perspective. The low angle of the sun and the gentle light is perfect for showing the incredible detail of decorations. Thanks for the interesting note also. Bravo!

L'angle et le zoom sont exemplaires, je pense. En tout cas le résultat est superbe et quand, en plus, on joue avec la lumière aussi bien !!

Hey Regis. First off thanks for all of your critiques today. Now to your latest: the light is really something to behold. The softer warm light makes for some very nice tones. The composition is also very good. Nice one Regis!

Hi Regis,
It seems to me that your photography drastically changed since you switched from F801 to D100, am I right?
Very good control over sunlight areas, fine composition and DOF, well visible details in shades. Lovely colour as well!

C'est parfait en qualité.
J'aime bien ce cadrage, et cet angle qui fait ressortir les sculptures de la facade et aussi les détails.
Contrastres, couleurs pour une très belle cathédrale.
