Photographer’s Note
August 6, 2004
At less than 30 km of Bandung there is a volcano named Tangkubanparahu (the turned over boat, to see the legend about it, have a look on my web site) . On the slopes of this volcano, there was volcanic activity. There remain traces in the form of tear in the mountain. In this tear, there are several spring of hot water. That I present to you, comes out to about 95°C (203°F). It is muding continuously. Water is used in the thermal spa of Ciater, a few kilometer below.

A remarkable image, Jacques, of a remarkable place. And so hard to depict - it's movement, it's heat and it's sound. But I think you did well. The bubbling water well shown and the vapour rising - not completely concealing the surrounding - in a nice composition. I get the impression of a sauna and I'm almost able to feel the boiling heat. Very well done!

Ha !

Hi Jacques, you captured the sheer energy very well here. The textures are great and the exposure is the best of both world: it shoes details (drops) and the flow/turbulance aspect of the water. The framing is well chosen too. Very well done. Bravo!

Great shot. I like a lot the effect of the water vapour and of the boiling water. Good light and contrast. Many thanks for your shot!
