Photographer’s Note

St. Paul is a beautiful medieval fortified village perched on a narrow spur between two deep valleys. Its location gives you a great view of the village from the La Colle road to the east or the Cagnes-Vence road to the west.

What a lovely closeup of this old village. I like your ground level perspective. I recall seeing a similar type of shot on TE where the shooter moved to the overexposed side of the narrow shadowed road/walkway, rather than shooting from the middle. This provided more detail of the architecture which was ideally exposed, and minimized the overexposed areas. Just thought I'd share that idea with you, I thought it was brilliant and I wouldn't have thought of it myself.

Bonjour François,
Jolie scène d'un vieux village. C'est presqu'une vue intimiste. Composition classique mais agréable.

Hello Francois,
c'est une tres jolie prise de vue de St Paul, je pense que ca decrit bien l'ambiance de ce charmant petit village perché en haut de sa colline. J'aime bcp me ballader dans ces petites ruelles fraiches l'été.
Un bon cadrage.

Ah la Provence, ses petits villages aux ruelles si charmantes. L'ambiance est ici bien rendue.

* Note: Bonjour François - For a better presentation of the list of locations and to make research easier, it would be nice to write the names in small letters, beginning with a capital, connecting nouns with a dash/hyphen except [-] after Le, La, Les, or d' - and not using any abbreviation (St > Saint).

So it should be: Saint-Paul-de-Vence, rather than: Saint Paul-de-Vence.
