Mosque of al-Qarawiyyin
Lost in the middle of the narrow streets in the medina of Fez, you can find one of the treasures of the city and also one of the world's most beautiful places of worship, the Mosque of al-qarawiyyin, of the 10th century, the greater Islamic sanctuary of magreb, one of the largest mosque in Africa, and also, one of the world's oldest universities.
Here you can see a View into the courtyard toward the prayer hall arcade.
In the middle of the courtyard, there is the ablutions fountain, where Muslim people wash themselves before going to say.
This mosque has always the doors open, so you can look inside the courtyard, but you are not able to go inside if you do not belong to the Muslim religion.
For over a thousand years great Muslim saints and scholars have congregated in its ornamental courtyard. It remains one of the most majestic monuments of Islam.

Por fin!!!! Bueno, me gusta la composición, me gusta el toque que aportan los dos hombres, me gusta el lugar, no me gusta tanto que está algo sobreexpuesta en general y el cielo en particular... P´alante Jaume.
PD: ¿Cómo ha acabado lo del incendio?

Interesting shot! Good notes to go with it. It would have been nice if you could have gone in there, but oh well.
It's a little bright, maybe in photoshop a lower brightness and increased contrast would help, but in general, it'a good photo.
so, thanks for sharing.

Hola Jaume. M'agrada la composició i el lloc, sobretot la porta i les rajoles del terra; llàstima que els homes estiguin encongits i no se'ls vegi gaire. Tot i que és difícil amb tant de sol, te n'has sortit prou bé. Felicitats.

Hi Jaume, very nice perspective, the arabian style doorway works nice as a frame and the view into the courtyard and the two men washing themselves is great. I like the geometric pattern on the floor and the nice ornaments on the altar on the opposite side of the court. Well done Jaume!

Très belle photo, la porte au premier plan donne une belle forme à l'ensemble. J'aime aussi beaucoup la profondeur de champ donnée à travers la porte par les personnages et la seconde porte. Belle netteté de l'image.Bravo.

Hi Jaume - a nice little discreet glimpse into this courtyard, the architectural patterns are well framed. I have one taken from a rooftop, will post it soon.
