Photographer’s Note
I thought this would be a good photo to start off with TE. I took this photo from the Arts Building in University of Ottawa, Ottawa. The bike rider had stopped at the red light so there is this effect of world moving on around him/her freezed in time.
Can somebody tell me what can be done to get rid of the twinkling effect of the street lights in the long shutter speed photos.
I hope to hear a good critique from the fellow TE members.

Hi Sarju, welcome to Treakearth. I like your idea. With a good light and a excellent composition, the theme of your photo is very interesting. Pherhaps the biker isn't in an point of interest in the photo and the subject is too small respect the photo, but the intention is very good.

I really like this picture, just at sunset :)
He his funny, this lonely biker, alone in all the lights.

Using polarization filter you can totally eliminate the twinkling/glare effect of street light. But that would also result in very sharp comet effect of bike's head lights.

I like the biker frozen in time. It gives the photo a philosophical perspective.
Well done!

Very good composition. Amazing how the bike rider stands out so well. I like the long exposure. Not sure how to get rid of the twinkling lights, but I tried a workshop to darken everything. Maybe a shorter exposure length would be good to try next time.

Hola sarju
Bonita toma nocturna como creo que ya te comenté, me encantan las tomas nocturnas con vehiculos en movimiento, pero piensa que le podrías haber dado más definición, pero bueno es mi parecer.

Hi Sarju - I ran into this one randomly, from the note it seems like this is your first photo, so a belated welcome to TE. Its very interesting that the biker has stood still for 15 seconds with all the traffic around, wonderful lights.

Hi Sarju, this is a wonderfully clever picture. I saw the title of the thumbnail and thought - why? But look at the big image and it is immediately obvious. It's incredible how this one figure on a bicycle can stand out so well just by being still.

Hi Sarju,
I had a long thinking about yoyr last shot, but I have to confess that doesn't excite me much (a very interesting note, though - I usually run as far as possible from those crowded events...), comparing to the wonders you have in your gallery, so here I am. I thought that would be funny to start with your first one. Not bad at all! You have very nice long exposures and this one has a very good result. I love the POV and of course the biker that gave the title is a good plus to this capture. The details of the other two cars are very interesting as well.
I notice you have the map. Did you put it in all your shots? That's impressive, man!
Congratulations for this good start and take care,
I'll come back to you before the end of the year, so see you there.

It's your title that made me open the pic. I like your composition... Everything is light except the man. Great inspiration and realisation.
