Photographer’s Note
As you were thinking that only Hindu's are visiting a temple .... wrong !
This owl is living there, in the wall of this temple on the country-side near the Elephant-Rock of Madurai.
ISO400 1/200sec F/9 280mm spot sat+
This simple shot to indicate that simplicity can be the strenght of the photo itself, maybe not the strongest example but still a way to applaude those who showed already that they didn't forget yet.
Stay creative.

Hi Henk,
Clicking on the vignette I was first thinking about an exercize on primary colors, but now viewing the owl it gets another dimension, very well seen and definitely yes a simple shot can be successful, well done !
Have a nice day,

Wow Henk, what a fantastic compo. From the thumb I thought you'd been to a Mondrian exhibition. I only I had space for one more favourite.

Very good framing and beautiful colours as the grey / brown of the owl makes a real contrast with the hot reds and yellows. Congratulations !

Goedemiddag Henk,
Spijtig zijn deze bij ons grotensdeels verdwenen, de rood en gele kleur van de muren en daar tussen het zinnebeeld der wijsheid! Gemoet maar geluk hebben om deze foto te maken.
Groeten,

Abstract painting together with wild life; a very surprising combination, Henk. Congradulations for having such a chance. Great powerful colors.

What an envy! In my Zanni's birds theme I haven't an owl and for the moment I can't go to Madurai! This bird has just found a strange but colorfull nest: probably it likes astract painting as I like your simple but amazing composition.

Hi Henk, lunchbreak, and the strong graphical impact of this picture grabbed me. Besides I like the colours very much, AND the fact that it was rather different from you.
I liked it very much, and at the same I would very much like to see it in a square format, so I took the liberty in creating a WS.

How do you like your 1D M2 by the way? Isn't it a bit too heavy to carry around?

Hi Henk,
It is not everyday that one finds an owl in a Hindu Temple. One can also see that the guys who had repainted the temple have taken care to leave the owl's home untouched. Hope it remains like that and the owl remains undisturbed. hope man and animal can coexist like this without any problems...
Like always, I would say, this is a great find...!
Thanks for sharing

When I saw the smaller version of this photo, I thought: what is this? Just a hole? But there is owl in the hole, very funny and quite surprizing. The colours and line are nice as well.

What an eye Henk ;-), yes this is simple and strong. A kind of picture that works great in large format with those large strips of colours, whose "monotony" is broken by an element. I like that almost B&W owl flooded in a sea of colours. Thanks!

Buongiorno Henk,
you are absolutely right: the simplicity IS the strenght of the foto! And a very nice one, amazing to see a owl with so much light.
The chromatic contrast between the two colors is beautiful... and a owl's nest on the line!!
Very nice, very, very strong.
Compliments for the eye catch, a shot ipossible to forgive.

Henk
you have such wonderful pics from India....i won't have enough time today to see all of them..
i like this one very much, especially for the colours and the compo.
This wall looks like a Rothko work, during the 50's...i'd call it , "Ornge and Yellow"
congrats
