Photographer’s Note

This shot has been taken through plane window just a few minutes before landing at Maale Airport.
We've reached Maale in the morning coming from Colombo in SriLanka. Thus only people sitting on the right side of the plane could admire these wonderfull views. On the other side, the sun was rising disabling everyone from making shots.....well I would say we were lucky!!
I hope you'll enjoy as we do and perhaps there will come a few more.

Hi,
Very beautiful blue tones, paradise-like island. It's strange with these coral reefs that just pop up in the middle of the ocean. How did the Maldives handle the tsunami? To me looking at the edge at the bottom there seems to be traces of something like that. Anyway, the colors are really striking in this one.

Good shot from the aircraft Alexis gives a great perspective of this area, good composition and exposure, informative note, very nicely done.

Incredible picture, many differents sea tones and in the middle of all this you find a beautiful tiny island.

Hi Alexis and Caroline
Could we have been in the Maldives at the same time in March?
You were lucky to have the view from the plane on the way in to Male airport - we arrived in the middle of the night and had no idea what the place looked like until the following morning.
Great shot of this island, the features of the water are well captured.
