[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Roman Pontiff has declared the year 2000 A.D. a Jubilee for Roman Catholics throughout the world. The Pope believes that Jesus Christ’s second appearance will occur during this period and the Church wants to present itself spotless before the Savior.

Pope John Paul II has asked a number of other Christian denominations to celebrate this Jubilee as one Church in unity. Many are making great preparations for this event. John Paul has said that he wants to live to see this Jubilee and has set forth many changes in the church. The Pontiff has apologized and also asked forgiveness for many of the great atrocities the church has made over the last 2000 years. For example, he has asked pardon for the Inquisition, for bringing the slaves to America, for the silence of the Roman Catholic Church during the Holocaust.
