Photographer’s Note

I was on my way to the beach at Perissia, a black sand beach, in Santorini island, certainly the most photogenic place of the Kyklades. I stopped my car when I noticed a café - or restaurant- painted in extraordinary pastel colors not familiar to the island's blue and white , and there was another excitement, because the sunlight passed through a sunroof which left diagonal shadows all over the painted facade.

I tried to find the same house again years later, I found it but gone were the colors.

I have slightly arranged the vertical lines in Photoshop.

very nice.. Une bien belle image Izzet. Festival de couleurs ici, je pense que le cadre coloré n'apporte pas rgrand chose à cette superbe composition.
c'est ce que j'aimerais voir en ce moment, le gris devient ennuyeux ici...

Hi Izzet,
Nice colorful shot - well seen. I like how the pattern of lines isn't totally regular there are some thicker ones and some irregular spacing. It's nice that the "real" lines from the buildin are all vertical or horizontal, and the "virtual" lines from the shadows are diagonal. The combination of lines and colors makes a really nice shot.

Cette photo est un regal pour les yeux, j'en ai meme mal a la tete presque si je la fixe trop longtemps. Les couleurs sont tres belles, j'aimerais que toutes les maisons soient aussi colorees. Quelque chose me derange, peut etre le fait qu'elle soit parfaitement cadree...mais comment pourrait elle en etre autrement.

A sypmhonie of colours! Makes you smile and feel warm immediately after opening the thumbnail. Wow, the diagonal ;ines are so nice. The frame fits well here, I'm not so fond of coloured frames, but here it's a good choice.

Missed this one Izzet - my teenage son just walked past and was arrested by it - that says something!! I have always particularly liked images where this sort of shadow light effect occupies the whole picture plane and the colours are one off! Such a great vision on behalf of the cafe owner!! I knew an unusual optometrist in the UK who painted her house like this - no photo sadly and it is also now gone!

She lives in a traditional rural house now! TE is so much richer with you here!
