Photographer’s Note
This is a place seldom visited by tours. It 1s the temple of Hathor at Denderah, north of Luxor.
I liked the incredible golden light which illuminated the stairs, and asked one of the temple guards to pose for me. I knew that the guard would come out as a silhouette . At that moment another guard appeared at the door: I had just enough time to release the shutter: No tripods hand held camera,
and probably a low speed.

Bonjour Izzet,
Une magnifique image, quelle lumière ! ! !
Une très belle exposition, ça frise l’exploit avec toutes ces lumières claires et foncées.
J’aime vraiment !
Amicalement

A nice visual relationship between these two people Izzet beautifully concentrated by the converging lines of the steps and the roof - I really like the lighting - the idea and the taking of the moment!

Excelllent composition, it feels as if I've already got one foot up the stairs. Great light, the impact is very gentle and striking at once.

Hello Izzet,
Indeed a beautiful photo.
I like the almost high-key effect due to the high light in the background.
Bravo this is excellent.
It would have been even better if the man close to you were going down the stairs.

Nice photo, well composed and nice use of the existing light. I like how the light brings out the silhouettes of the guards. I have one remark only: This place is the passage leading down to Osireion, a false tomb just behind the temple of Seti I at Abydos.

A great composition with an interesting perspective, the stairs conducting from one silhouette to the other one

Merhaba Üstad,
Really a great job. It's a luck to have the second guard at the moment. Very sharp and all the textures of the staircase and the walls are perfectly visible. Very good and expesive job, I bet it costed to you about 2 EGP..:)))

Hello Izzet, a backlighting I magnify, has all the components that indicate a good work to me, the depth of the perron, the silhouettes, the light, the color, the definition, the reflections of the stone. I like much.
Congratulations. A hug... Paco

Selamlar Izzet,
impact image with amazing PoV.
The guards along the stairway are perfectly situated and give depth to the image. Moody image... guardian of a great past!
A smile

What fabulous luck that the other guard appeared at just the right moment, Izzet - that really has made this a great photograph with him silhouetted against the light at the top of the stairs. I wondered whether it would have been possible to see more of the lower guard's face with a fill-flash, but I don't think that would have been possible without spoiling the exposure on the steps and walls in front of you - they are perfect as is. Cheers . . . David
