Northern lights and hot springs Photo

Photographer’s Note

A night time view of Námaskarð geothermal area by lake Mývatn. Many tourists pass there during the day, but it can be even more impressive during the night. This photo was taken at 10PM during the ending of a short (~15 minutes) but extremely intense display of northern lights. The sky was flaming in green and pink, at the same time as the full moon casted light on the steam from the hot springs.

Due to the long exposure time, it seems almost unreal, because of the blue sky.
