Look at a bunch of ten people or more doing the same thing or looking to the same direction... someone will NEED to turn his head after a while, the less concentrated or the most curious of the bunch, you simply have to wait till it happens...

This is taken in one of the biggest and also most pleasant of Chang Mai's many temples. The sun was setting down when I heard the monks chanting for the evening prayer, I then entered the temple and sat looking at the ceremony... one of the youngest novices just couldn't stay still, I knew he would be the first to turn his head towards me.

Yes, I know this feeling, Luko. I guess that he felt that someone is watching him. It was a very good decision to wait for your hunt, sometimes we have to be patient.
A great shot, I like the scene and the contrast. This blurred golden Buddha catches the eye. Good job.

Very nice! I love the Buddhist culture in S.E. Asia. So much so I consider myself a Buddhist now. :) So peaceful and polite. Your patience paid off. Nice subtle colors and DOF. Nice composition too. Which temple? Doi Suthep? Very nice photo. JP

Belle image Luko !

qu'as tu fais comme PP?

J'aime beaucoup.
Merci du partage.
Alex

Its great rich colours here. Wonderful.
but i am really curious how come 1.8 would give this kind of DOF though... amazing..
regards and bw.

Wow wow wow. NIce light, and a very good DoF, nice line up. And the colors, so deep. There are so many details still to be seen.
I like their feet, I'm glad they are in the composition.
The most curious wiil be the less concentrated, the other way around is not necessarily so, I guess. He's got a nice, curious look on his face, with a little frown.
Did you have the camera in front of your face all the time? Are you sure you did nothing to draw his attention ;-)
Very nice one.

Très belle image et superbe composition. La lumière est fantastique.

Beautiful photo, lovely light, perfect DOF. It's an elegant, sweet moment.

Now the bad news: why is his face sort of bronzey-green? With red freckles? It must be noise. I know a PP trick to help; I'll upload it as a WS.

What a nice moment. Great timing, indeed. Wonderful colours. I like the contrast between the sharp scene and the blury background. Great scene.

Fantastic moment cought on sensor, love everything about this image, mostly the look of the monk and the deep, rich colours.
I however think that the very bright statue on the left is too bright, and a bit of distraction...
Peter

Underexposure makes the monk's skin look dreadful. Buddha statue in the bokeh is overexposed and distracting. Not one of your best.

Hi Luko. Good shot here, I think, the composition works and the colors look very different but are nonetheless very appealing. The way the boy's head is turned works for me as well and the DOF is good enough to focus on the subject, but also wide enough to get a glimpse of the temple beyond. Good work.

well seen and captured. darkish color tones with meagre light gives a very special feel to this composition.

Good point, and good technique. So you can just wander freely into these places and shoot away. Sounds good, nice job here.

nice colours, i like the subdued feel of the picture

La lumière qui tombe sur le moine qui tourne la tête est splendide -
Les couleurs sont superbes -
Merci
Gaby

Great title really describing the picture. Nice tones and light.

Hi Luko, Great image! Love the soft bokeh and the selective focus on the subject.
[Do you have another image from here? I seem to remember having seen something like this recently. Or maybe someone else shot a very similar photo]

Hi Luko. A good shot here. I don't really have much to say or to add other than kind of wishing it was the monk onthe right who lost his concentration and turned to the side rather than the one dead center. Interesting colors here, your post processing here reminds me of some of Philip Coggan's stuff.

Hello Luko
