Photographer’s Note

..on the Ganga trip.

This is a picture of the flower sellers below the Howrah bridge. They are wholesellers, from whom small traders and shop-owners buy flowers and sell in the different parts of the city. One can find all the flowers available in a particular season here, both in adequate amount and cheap price.

I take the opportunity to wish you Happy Holi.
Holi is the festival of colors in India. It will be celebrated tomorrow/next day depending on the local customs.

i like this shot. looks like -ur not gonna give up ur marigolds Arnab! :). I like the guys positions but not their expressions somehow! lol.. they look damn serious.. still, still very good shot! bw

Belle image. Bien contrastée avec des couleurs qui explosent.
J'aurais, peut-être recadré en coupant un peu le coté droit qui est trop dans l'ombre, surtout le coin supérieur. Quoi qu'il en soit, belle photo.

Ur earlier posts on Marigold flower were all good and this is also in the line of that.. except different view with other man. Seems like he was very much pleased to be photographed.

Wonderful colors, also the way the guy is standing fortunately breaks the monotonous horizontality of this scene... I don't know whether you asked him to stand, but anyway it's a good move.

Looks also that you've darkened the sides to focus our attention on the vendors, it's also an effective processing. Second good choice!

This is very nicely composed, and obviously very colorful! The low angle makes the man's gesture, holding up the flowers, very dynamic.

This is so nice for me, and even nicer because I was there recently there and took so many people with the same flowers ,in Kolkata. I like the very simple wall and the relationship between the two main actors in this frame. The last guy disturbs me a little, but he can easily be removed on the computer. A very interesting image here with many colors. I like it a great deal. I think it's an interesting contrast to have these men's faces that are rather glum in contrast with the smiling/happy feeling of the flowers.

Could have been more careful on the composition, otherwise the vibrant colors makes the shot outstanding....
The subject man in the left of the frame seem too conscious of the lens
